Best Bonfire Nights in the UK

With bonfire night approaching this weekend we want to make sure you don’t miss out on the most spectacular displays across the country.

Bonfire night is one of Britain's best loved traditions. It marks the occasion of Guy Fawkes and his entourage attempting to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605 and to commemorate this the British public light bonfires, burn “Guys” and set off fireworks.

Of course you could attempt to light your own fireworks in the back garden and narrowly miss blowing up the shed or setting fire to a tree - but why not venture into the city to see a professional display?

Leeds - Roundhay Park

This year the annual fireworks display in Leeds will be hosted at Soldiers Field in Roundhay Park. Don't let the date catch you out - this ones' on Friday 4th November at 8pm.

Glasgow – Glasgow Green

Scotland’s biggest organized fireworks display will take place on Glasgow Green set to live music, and includes a fairground and a mesmerizing laser show. The display takes place on Saturday 5th November at 7:30pm.

Liverpool – River Mersey

The residents of Liverpool are in for a treat with a thrilling firework display on the River Mersey - it's expected to be Liverpool's biggest and best display to date. Thousands are expected to attend and enjoy the display from both sides of the river. Be there on Saturday 5th November at 6:30pm.

London – the London Mayor’s Fireworks

The capital holds a huge firework display every year centred around the London Eye. For a prime spot, anywhere along the main stretch of the embankment will give you a good view of the main event. November 5th at 5.15pm - get there early for a good spot!

Manchester – Platt Fields Park

Located in Fallowfield, this is the biggest bonfire event close to the city centre, and there will be a funfair, street food and a giant bonfire. It takes place on 5th November with the bonfire lit at 7:30pm.
